HISTORY OF TURKEY CRICKET TEAM

The people of Turkey played cricket since early 20^th century. They had a team of cricket. They are the membership status of ICC as Affiliated  member and they got in June 2008. Everyone’s surprised to hear that cricket played in Turkey. Turkey had a biggest football club,. They establish their own cricket  team in 1911. The cricket was dying out from the Turkey behind the reason if first World war, After a hundred years they began to play cricket in the country.

            Unofficially a lot of local game had been played in the capital city Ankara in Turkey. There joint few enthusiast together in 2004, and a proper structure of the game try to set by them.  The sports centre of Bilken University gave the support to them from June 2005. The Kimlik one of the local company organized the first domestic cricket competition in Turkey , there four clubs only attended to the competition, with the  flicx  pitch played even all the matches, and that is also helped by ICC.

            Turkish Government helped to development the cricket in the next step  in 21 December 2006. A Federation of Developing  decided formed by “The General Director of sports.”. and “Kriket” was included officially as a “developing sport” after approaches from the Turkish cricket community in the Turkey.

            Prof Abdullah Atahar thevic rector of Bilkent University formed the Turkish Cricket Board (TCB) and provided its officer also, that was the great supported to developing the beginning. The TCB applied for the membership of ICC in September 2007 and with state recognition. for established a official Board and competition regularly .The ICC granted the application of  Turkey for affiliated membership and international cricket qualified to play by the annual conference of July 2008.

            Turkey took place the first ever international match in Corfu, Greece on 7^th September 2009 during the ICC Division Championship of Europe against Estonia and they won first time  in international cricket against Bulgaria  on that tournament. They in spite for their won they finished the competition. They built seven  cricket  team in Turkey. Six of them are Ankara and one of  them is Istanbul . Regular they take part in the domestic competition .
