HISTORY OF NEW ZEALAND CRICKET TEAM

The History of  Cricket  in New Zealand National team  provided by Henry Williams the first report of the game of New Zealand cricket wrote  in his diary in December 1832 about boys in and around paihia on Horotutu Beach playing Cricket. HMS Beagle and Caharles Darwin call in to the Bay of Island on its epic circumnavigation of the earth  and Darwin witnessed a game of cricket played by freed maori slaves and the son of a missionary at Waimate North in 1835. Darwin in wrote in the voyage of the Beagle several young men needed by the missionaries from slavery were employed. For  the firm . According to record  New Zealand took place first cricket game in  Wellington  in December 1842. The game played on 28 December 1842 by Red and Blue team from the Wellington  Club reports by Wellington spectators . The first  fully recorded match conducted between the surveyors and Nelson in March 1844 reported by the Examiner in  Nelson. 

            Parr’s all England  XI the first tour to New Zealand  in 1863-64 . 22 foreign team tour to New Zealand between 1864 to 1914. England sent 6 team , Australia 15 teamand fiji one  team.

            New Zealand presenting first team on 15-17 February 1894 with South  Wales at Lancaster Park in Christchurch .  New South Wales won by 160 runs . Again New Soluth Wales returned to New Zealand in 1895-96 and New Zealand  won by 142 runs . its first victory . At the end  of 1894 New Zealand Cricket Council established .

            In 1904-05 New Zealand played its first two international Match (not Test) against Australia team , containing such player as Victor Trumper, Warwick and Clem Hill. But first innings match pros pond due to rain., second innings Australia won by an innings and 358 runs , it  was the largest defeat of New Zealand first class cricket .

            MCC toured to New Zealand  and played 4 test match in 1929/30 by 3 days duration. Though New Zealand lost first test  but second test Stewie Dempster and Jackie Mills put on 276 for the for the first wicket. This result is the highest partnership record against England .

1931-32 New Zealand first played  South Africa  but unable to complete test against any team except England.. Before 2^nd World War Test cricket pros pond for 7 years .After World War NZ played first test against Australia in 1945/46though it was not considered a test but at the time granted test status respectively by the ICCin March 1948. In 1949 NZ played to England 3 day test but matches ensure that all  test were drawn.

            NZ Played first test match against  West Indies  in 1951-52 , then played against Pakistan in 1955 and India in 1956
